“Presence on the global market” is one of the 5 categories of the prestigious Economy Award of the President of Poland, to which OKNOPLAST Group was nominated this year. A special distinction was awarded to the Polish leader of the window joinery sector for its contribution to the economic growth of the country and for building a positive image of the Polish economy in foreign markets.
The only such award for businesspeople
The Economy Award of the President of Poland is a distinction of special value. From the 106 businesses nominated by local government and public organisations, 16 best were selected. “The nomination for the Economy Award of the President of Poland is a great honour. Reaching the final stage is an outstanding success for our company. Firstly, we have been included in the elite of Poland’s best businesses from various sectors and industries; secondly, we have been distinguished as the only company in the window joinery sector,” comments Mikołaj Placek, Chairman of the Board of OKNOPLAST Group. “We are honoured that President Bronisław Komorowski appreciates our activity in the global market. In 2014, the exports share in the company sales structure was 70%, which makes us the largest Polish exporter in terms of the value of sold PVC windows,” the Chairman of OKNOPLAST points out.
A well-earned distinction
Over the course of 20 years, a small family company operating in Krakow and its immediate surroundings has grown to become a leading European manufacturer of PVC windows and doors. Currently OKNOPLAST Group is composed of three entities: OKNOPLAST, WnD, and Aluhaus. The company operates in 10 markets: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy and Hungary. In those countries the company has a chain of over 2,400 franchise sales outlets. OKNOPLAST owes its strong position in Europe to innovative products that are tailored to each market, and well-thought-out strategic and marketing activities that build the brand image in Poland and abroad.
