The OKNOPLAST Group is reinforcing its market position: in 2022 the company recorded revenue of €1.72 billion, and the financial outlook for 2023 supports further investment plans. One of OKNOPLAST’s latest projects is a fully automated high‑bay warehouse.

Growing sales and an expanding presence in foreign markets are improving the Group’s business situation, enabling ever‑bolder investments-estimated at nearly €25 million over the coming years. The company also intends to enlarge its market share both in Poland and throughout Europe, while continuing its expansion into North America.

Vast Capacity

Expansion abroad and rising domestic demand mean steadily increasing production, which in turn creates a need for larger storage areas capable of holding materials with diverse specifications. Hence the high‑bay warehouse: in future the company could run out of space dedicated to storing weather‑sensitive materials that require the highest storage standards.

The facility’s sheer volume is impressive. With a height of 15 metres, it will make maximum use of the available footprint. Its total volume will reach 29,557.8 m³, allowing it to house 1,800 specialised pallets packed with a range of components. This will be one of the largest storage spaces of its kind in Poland’s window‑joinery sector.

Maximum Automation

The new investment will raise the company’s level of automation. Not a single person will work inside the warehouse—reflecting global trends in which projects are designed for high automation from the outset. What does this mean in practice? Profiles for sashes, frames and mullions, as well as steel reinforcements, will be picked and conveyed automatically to the production‑preparation department. This will greatly streamline the entire manufacturing process, benefiting not only the company but above all its customers, as orders will be fulfilled faster and at even higher quality.

“The new facility, which we urgently need, will be fully automated, bringing maximum optimisation of its future operating and storage costs. The investment will not affect the company’s staffing policy. Automation will raise storage standards but will not reduce our need for skilled personnel. At OKNOPLAST the opposite is true: we are continually expanding our team and seeking qualified specialists with high‑level competencies,”
says Łukasz Marzec, Chief Operating Officer of the OKNOPLAST Group.

The high‑bay warehouse is scheduled to come on‑stream in the first quarter of 2024, when all the most sensitive components essential for window production will be moved there. It will be one of the OKNOPLAST Group’s largest investments in recent years.
